I’ve photographed three weddings in the past year and I’m still trying to adjust to the hectic craziness of it all. I found this blog post on Corey Ann Photography’s blog. It’s genius! It puts images and words to all the frustrating situations that can stand in the way between a photographer and the money shot.

For all future wedding guests and party attendees, don’t be like this lady. Let the official photographer have first dibs.

This is the all-important Save the Date that every bride looks forward to mailing out.

As a graphic designer, I was more excited about getting to design something for myself.

No rules, no guidelines. Just personal choice!

It was very fun and refreshing. I love being able to combine humor, design and photography into one simple 3×5 postcard.

I decided to play with the unique wedding date my fiance and I chose. October 10, 2010 (10/10/10) is easier (or probable just more fun) to pronounce as “ten cubed.” I also took the opportunity to use a Photoshop tutorial and build my Photoshop skills. The technique may not look exactly right but practice makes perfect and this is just one of the great ways getting married is helping me become a better designer!

Sidenote: The typeface and style may differ on the invitations. I hadn’t created a design brief for my wedding yet when I made the Save the Dates. I know I’m not in school anymore but I’m worried that the professors attending my wedding will take points off of my “grade” for inconsistency. Gotta be consistent!

Since I love all things design, I figured I’d take advantage of this opportunity to plan, create, and design every inch of my wedding. I love details and I plan on putting a lot of them into my wedding!
